Academic Requirements
- HSC for undergraduate entry; some countries expect an extra year, since most EU bachelor's follow 13 years of schooling
- Bachelor's with roughly CGPA 3.0+ for most master's programmes; Germany looks for a close subject match
- Completed SSC, HSC and Bachelor's transcripts, translated and attested
- Certificate attestation through the Ministry of Education and MOFA, then embassy legalisation
- GRE/GMAT rarely required, though some German and Dutch programmes still ask for it
- Statement of Purpose, CV and two academic references
English Proficiency
- IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall covers most English-taught programmes across all eight countries
- The Netherlands and Finland often ask for 6.5 with no band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic accepted almost everywhere; Duolingo at a growing number
- Some German and Italian universities accept an MOI certificate — confirm case by case
- A1/A2 in the local language is worth starting early: it is rarely required for admission but changes your job prospects
Financial Requirements
- Germany: €11,904 in a blocked account (Sperrkonto) — €992 per month for twelve months
- France, Italy, Poland: proof of roughly €600–900 per month of living costs, plus accommodation
- Netherlands, Finland, Sweden: €900–1,500 per month, usually shown as a bank balance
- Funds must be genuine, legally sourced and traceable — sudden large deposits are a common refusal trigger
- Sponsor income proof, tax returns and relationship documents where a parent or relative funds you
- Scholarship or university award letters, where applicable
Other Documents
- Valid passport with at least six months validity beyond your intended stay
- University admission or enrolment letter, plus proof of tuition payment where required
- Health insurance valid across the Schengen area for the full period
- Accommodation proof — a rental contract, dormitory letter or host declaration
- Biometrics and, for several countries, an interview at the embassy or VFS in Dhaka
- Country-specific step: APS certificate for Germany, Campus France interview for France, Universitaly pre-enrolment for Italy
- Police clearance and, for some countries, a medical certificate

What You Can Do During & After Studies

During Studies
Germany allows 140 full days or 280 half days a year, the Netherlands 16 hours a week, and most others 20. Nearly everywhere lets you work full-time during official holidays.
After Graduation
Finland gives two years, Germany eighteen months, and France, Italy, Sweden, Poland and the Netherlands twelve. You apply from inside the country before your student permit expires.
Longer-Term Route
With a graduate-level job you can move onto the EU Blue Card, which carries a salary threshold of roughly €45,300 and counts towards permanent residence. Its real advantage is portability: it moves with you between member states, so the country you study in need not be the country you settle in.
